Having
lived his entire life farming in the beautiful hills of
northeast Iowa, at the age of 71 and not ready to retire,
George Leonard began developing his life-long dream of
building a large lake in one of the valleys on his farm.
Now George is sharing his dream and offers Emerald Valley
Estates as an upscale housing area.
Close to a highway,
but far enough away for privacy and beauty to abound,
his dream began to unfold. As George would stand on the
top of the 600 foot dam, he could envision the type of
beautiful homes that would surround the serene blue lake.
Those lucky enough to live there would be able to fish,
swim and boat on the calm spring-fed waters, walk the
surrounding pathway watching goslings and ducklings 
hatching
and swimming, sit in the dappled shadows of large old
trees, and catch the silent gliding of an occasional eagle.
The passing wildlife and singing of the birds would only
add to the enjoyment of those living there.
As an added benefit,
George decided to include an airpark—he had the
perfect spot—1/2 mile on a level grassy field adjacent
to the housing area. As a man who enjoys flying himself,
he knew others would appreciate having the convenience
of this airpark. Just think—being able to fly to
and from your home whenever you wanted—and not having
to travel miles to do so!
